Description
Our objective is to design the instrumentation system for use in the Baja racing car that will allow Notre Dame’s Baja car team to control and receive feedback on the performance of the car. This system will require the collection, presentation, and exportation of useful data. This data will allow the Baja team to perform analysis on past competitions and make design improvements to the vehicle. In addition, the real time display of this information will help the baja car driver monitor their success in the current competition. This information may include data on vehicle specific statistics, such as speed, engine temperature, and tire pressure, as well as any other information relevant to the various Baja events, such as lap times. Since the Baja car will be exposed to the elements such as rain and mud, we must take in these environmental considerations as well.
